Luciano Bianchi VIPsAllowed — Nice but maybe a touch steep
7/10

The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something dry and interesting. It's good — really clean finish and you can actually taste what's going on because there's barely any sugar masking things. £43 is a lot though, and I've had champagnes at £30 that I've enjoyed just as much. Would buy on offer.

Ayako Hirano VIPsAllowed — Decent champagne, bit dry for me
7/10

Got this as a birthday present and it's clearly quality stuff — the finish is really clean and it lingers nicely. Personally I prefer something a tiny bit sweeter so the extra brut style isn't quite my thing, but I can see why people rate it. At 12.5% it's dangerously easy to drink though. Would suit someone who knows their champagne better than me.

Haruki Sato VIPsAllowed — Great pick for a dinner party
8/10

Served this at a dinner party and got loads of compliments. It smells amazing straight out of the bottle, really expressive and aromatic. The dryness works brilliantly with food — we had it with smoked salmon starters and then just kept drinking it through the main course. Proper grown-up champagne.
