Proper grown-up wine
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and he wasn't wrong. It's got this lovely stony, flinty thing going on with lemon and peach underneath. Not a wine you just knock back — you actually want to sit with it and pay attention. Really well made.
15 March 2026Birthday treat that delivered
Got this as a birthday present to myself and wasn't disappointed. There's a confidence to it — smells great, tastes balanced, and the fruit and acidity work really well together. Lingering finish that kept me going back for more. Equipo Navazos clearly know what they're doing.
2 April 2026Burgundy that actually lives up to the hype
I'm still fairly new to spending this much on wine but I wanted a proper Burgundy for once. The raspberry and cherry on the nose pulled me in straight away and then the palate is all dark fruit and herbs, really layered. Silky tannins too, nothing harsh at all. Worth saving up for.
5 January 2026Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's birthday and we were both really impressed. Loads of tiny bubbles and it's got this crisp, clean thing going on that just makes you keep sipping. At £57 it's not cheap but for a special occasion Champagne it's absolutely worth it.
27 January 2026Great for a date night
Picked this up for a home-cooked steak dinner with my partner. Poured beautifully dark in the glass and smelled amazing. It's got a bit of weight to it but doesn't feel heavy if that makes sense? We finished the bottle without even realising. Job done.
18 April 2026Good with cheese and crackers
Picked this up from Tesco for a dinner party and served it with a cheese board. The orange peel thing really comes through when you have it with strong cheddar. At 20% it packs more of a punch than you'd think so pace yourself! Solid choice for the price.
31 March 2026Worth every penny for a special occasion
Bought the 5 litre bottle for my dad's 60th birthday and it was a massive hit. Really smooth and warming without that burning feeling you get from cheap port. The flavours just keep coming — dried fruit, toffee, nuts — and it lasted us the whole weekend with family. At £380 it's not cheap but when you break it down per glass from that big bottle it's actually reasonable for a 20 year old port.
7 April 2026My new go-to celebration bottle
Bought this for my wife's birthday dinner and we both loved it. Really lively bubbles, crisp and fresh without being harsh. At £47 it's not cheap but honestly it drinks like something more expensive. We've already ordered another bottle for Easter.
13 January 2026Great with fish and chips honestly
I know you're supposed to have champagne with fancy food but we had this with fish and chips on a Friday night and it was unreal. The acidity cuts right through the grease and the fruit keeps it refreshing. Deutz clearly know what they're doing. Will definitely buy again.
22 April 2026Nice but bit pricey for what it is
Had this at a dinner party last weekend. It's good champagne, don't get me wrong — clean finish, smells great straight out of the bottle. But at nearly £54 I think there are NV champagnes that give you more bang for your buck. Would drink it again if someone else was buying though.
16 March 2026Proper grown-up champagne
The wine shop guy steered me toward this when I said I wanted something a bit more serious than Moët. He was right — it's got this depth to it that builds as you drink. Clean and fresh but also kind of toasty? Really enjoyed it with some cheese after dinner.
1 February 2026New favourite for celebrations
Picked this up for New Year's and it was brilliant. Poured it and the smell hit you straight away — really expressive and fruity. Goes down dangerously easy for 12.5%. Already ordered another couple of bottles for the next excuse to celebrate.
27 December 2025Nice but takes some getting used to
The guy at the wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted to try sherry. It's dry but somehow feels rich? Bit confusing at first but grew on me by the second glass. Would probably buy again but wouldn't rush back.
20 January 2026Proper treat for New Year's
Bought this for New Year's Eve instead of the usual Moët and honestly glad I did. Really crisp and fresh, not too sweet like some champagnes can be. The bubbles are fine and it just kept getting better as we worked through the bottle. At £55 it's not cheap but it felt worth it for a special occasion.
9 November 2025Really nice port for the money
Picked this up from Majestic on a whim and honestly really impressed. You get that rich dried fruit and toffee thing going on but it doesn't taste syrupy sweet like cheap port usually does. The salty finish is genuinely interesting — my wife thought I was mad but she agreed after trying it.
26 April 2026Dinner party hero
Brought this to a friend's dinner party and everyone kept asking about it. There's a chalky dry finish that just makes you want another sip. The brioche and stone fruit flavours near the end were gorgeous. Telmont are doing something right with this one.
28 February 2026Best pet nat I've tried
I've been getting into natural wines recently and this is genuinely one of the best pet nats I've had. The nose is so expressive — you can actually smell distinct things rather than just "wine smell." Bought it as a birthday treat for myself and zero regrets. Would absolutely buy again.
30 December 2025The zero dosage thing is real
So the wine shop guy explained this has no added sugar and you can genuinely taste the difference. It's so direct and honest compared to sweeter champagnes. Really interesting bottle if you're into trying something a bit different. The acidity gives it proper backbone.
10 March 2026Surprised me!
The guy at my local recommended this and I'm glad he did. Way more interesting than I expected at this price point. There's actual depth to it rather than just being another generic fruity white. Had it with some grilled fish and it was lovely.
30 December 2025Stunning but hard to justify the price
Tried this at a wine dinner event and it's genuinely brilliant — perfectly balanced, bone dry acidity, gorgeous fruit. But £525 is a LOT of money. I've had champagnes at half the price that got me 80% of the way there. If someone else is buying though, say yes immediately.
