This Italy red from Luigi Scavino is a blend expression that punches above its price point.

Luna Chavez VIPsAllowed — Great with steak night
8/10

Picked this up after seeing Barolo recommended for red meat and it didn't disappoint. Bright and fruity up front with a warmth that builds as you drink it. At 14.5% it's got some weight to it too. Goes brilliantly with a ribeye.

It's a good wine, don't get me wrong — lovely fresh red fruit and a peppery kick that I enjoyed. But for a Barolo at this price I wanted it to be a bit more full-on? Felt lighter than I expected. My partner loved it though so maybe that's just me.

9/10

Got this as a birthday present to myself and wow, really glad I did. The strawberry and red fruit thing going on is gorgeous, and it just keeps going — the finish lasts ages with this lovely warming spice. At £42.50 it's not cheap but honestly felt worth every penny for a special occasion.
