Tariq Hassan VIPsAllowed — Nice enough fizz

Saw this on a restaurant wine list and thought why not. It's dry and kind of biscuity with green apple coming through. Bubbles are really delicate which was nice. Not bad at all but probably wouldn't seek it out to buy a bottle for home.

Had this at a friend's house and it was nice enough — crisp apple flavours and a dry chalky finish that I quite liked. But honestly for seventy-five quid I expected to be more blown away. I've had Champagnes at half the price that excited me more.

I'm not usually a Champagne person but picked this up for a dinner party and wow. The texture is almost creamy and chalky at the same time, and there's this lemon curd flavour that's just gorgeous. Everyone commented on it. At £75 it's not cheap but it genuinely stood out from other fizz I've tried.
