Kenji Watanabe VIPsAllowed — Proper German Riesling
9/10

Had this at a tasting event and immediately tracked down a bottle. It smells incredible — really precise and focused, not just generic white wine fruit. Fuller than I expected for a Kabinett at 12%, which I actually liked. The finish just goes on and on. This is what got me excited about Mosel wines in the first place.

Bought this half bottle to try with some seared scallops and it was absolutely perfect. The acidity cuts right through rich food but there's enough body that it doesn't feel thin. At £40 for a half bottle it's not cheap, but honestly for Egon Muller this is kind of a bargain. Will be buying more.

Marco Andretti VIPsAllowed — Nice but pricey for a half bottle

The wine shop guy talked me into this and it's good — really crisp and clean with a long finish. But £40 for 375ml is a lot when you can get a full bottle of solid Riesling for the same money. I'd have it again at a restaurant but probably won't rebuy for home.
