Egon Muller Le Gallais Wiltinger Braune Kupp Riesling Kabinett 2020 /Half Bottle
White 12% ABV ABV Egon MullerProper German Riesling
Had this at a tasting event and immediately tracked down a bottle. It smells incredible — really precise and focused, not just generic white wine fruit. Fuller than I expected for a Kabinett at 12%, which I actually liked. The finish just goes on and on. This is what got me excited about Mosel wines in the first place.
Wow, this is special
Bought this half bottle to try with some seared scallops and it was absolutely perfect. The acidity cuts right through rich food but there's enough body that it doesn't feel thin. At £40 for a half bottle it's not cheap, but honestly for Egon Muller this is kind of a bargain. Will be buying more.
Nice but pricey for a half bottle
The wine shop guy talked me into this and it's good — really crisp and clean with a long finish. But £40 for 375ml is a lot when you can get a full bottle of solid Riesling for the same money. I'd have it again at a restaurant but probably won't rebuy for home.
Good with takeaway Thai, surprisingly
Grabbed this on a whim and ended up drinking it with pad thai on the sofa. Worked really well actually — the acidity and that slight richness stood up to the spice. It's a well-made wine for sure, just hard to justify the price regularly when it's only a half bottle. Would definitely order it off a wine list though.
Birthday treat done right
My partner got me this for my birthday because I've been getting into German Riesling lately. It's got this amazing balance where it's fruity but not sweet, and there's a real depth to it that keeps you going back for another sip. The half bottle was actually perfect for splitting between two of us with dinner.
