Rich aromas of dried fruit, caramel, roasted walnut, and a hint of orange peel

Dense and concentrated, with layers of Christmas pudding, dark chocolate, and roasted coffee, finishing dry despite the richness

Finish

Rich and persistent with walnut, toffee, and a dry tangy close

Expert Review

7/10

This France fortified from Cline is a Mourvedre expression that punches above its price point.

Where has this been all my life? The dried fig and orange peel on the nose pulled me right in and the finish goes on forever. That dry tangy ending is brilliant — stops it being a one-note sweetie. Already ordered another bottle.

Saw this on a menu at a wine bar and liked it enough to track down a bottle. £23 feels about right for what you get. Really enjoyed the roasted coffee and dark chocolate flavours. Goes surprisingly well with a rich chocolate cake.

Got this as a birthday present. It's very intense — dried fruit, spice, the works. I can see why people rate it but I prefer something lighter. Ended up having it with blue cheese which helped cut through the richness.
