Herbert Muller VIPsAllowed — Best champagne I've had in ages
10/10

Saw this on a menu at a wine bar and the waiter talked me into it. Absolutely loved it — there's a lovely freshness with citrus and then this almond nuttiness that creeps in. Went home and ordered a bottle online immediately. The no added sulphur thing is a nice bonus too.

My wife got me this for my 40th and wow. The bubbles are so fine and delicate, and there's this amazing brioche thing going on that I kept coming back to. At £73 it's not an everyday bottle but for a special occasion champagne made from Chardonnay grapes, I thought it was properly impressive.

Nils Bergman VIPsAllowed — Really good but feels steep
8/10

Bit pricey for what it is if I'm honest. Don't get me wrong, it's a quality champagne — nice strawberry on the nose, lovely crisp bubbles, and it lingers for ages. But at nearly £75 a pop I'd want to be really sure before buying again. Would probably save it for Christmas or an anniversary.
