Champagne Telmont Sans Soufre 2013 sustainably sourced: Elegance Worth Celebrating
Champagne 12% ABV ABV TelmontBest champagne I've had in ages
Saw this on a menu at a wine bar and the waiter talked me into it. Absolutely loved it — there's a lovely freshness with citrus and then this almond nuttiness that creeps in. Went home and ordered a bottle online immediately. The no added sulphur thing is a nice bonus too.
Birthday treat that delivered
My wife got me this for my 40th and wow. The bubbles are so fine and delicate, and there's this amazing brioche thing going on that I kept coming back to. At £73 it's not an everyday bottle but for a special occasion champagne made from Chardonnay grapes, I thought it was properly impressive.
Really good but feels steep
Bit pricey for what it is if I'm honest. Don't get me wrong, it's a quality champagne — nice strawberry on the nose, lovely crisp bubbles, and it lingers for ages. But at nearly £75 a pop I'd want to be really sure before buying again. Would probably save it for Christmas or an anniversary.
Solid pick from the wine shop
The guy in my local recommended this when I asked for something a bit different. I'm still fairly new to champagne beyond the big names but I could tell this was a cut above. Really clean and elegant, with a sort of bready richness underneath. Not sure I'd spend £73 again on a weeknight but it was a nice treat.
Dinner party hero
Brought this to a friend's dinner party and everyone kept asking about it. There's a chalky dry finish that just makes you want another sip. The brioche and stone fruit flavours near the end were gorgeous. Telmont are doing something right with this one.
