Hannah Brooks VIPsAllowed — Interesting but not my usual style
7/10

Saw this on a restaurant wine list and thought I'd try something different. It's definitely more complex than what I normally drink — lots of layers and the flavour sort of unfolds as you sip. I think I prefer something a bit lighter and fruitier to be honest, but I can see why people rate it. Well made for sure.

Liam Anderson VIPsAllowed — Proper grown-up champagne
8/10

The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something a step up from supermarket fizz. It's 100% pinot noir which apparently makes it a blanc de noirs — you can taste the difference, there's a richness and structure you don't get from cheaper stuff. The finish just goes on and on. At £72 it's not an everyday buy but it's genuinely good.

Felix Moreau VIPsAllowed — Impressed the in-laws
8/10

Picked this up for a family dinner and it went down brilliantly with the roast chicken. There's a real weight to it that I wasn't expecting from champagne, and the acidity cuts right through richer food. Clean finish that lingers nicely. My father-in-law asked me to send him the name so I'll take that as a win.
