Finn OBrien VIPsAllowed - Solid PX, not life-changing
7/10

I've tried a few Pedro Ximenez sherries now and this is a reliable one. Rich and thick as you'd expect, good chocolate and prune notes. The finish is clean which I appreciate — some PX wines just leave you with a cloying sweetness. Fair price for what you get, maybe a touch high but the quality is there.

8/10

Bought this on a whim to go with a cheese board at Christmas and it was the star of the evening. So thick and rich — like liquid Christmas pudding with that fig and dark chocolate thing going on. At £28 it's not cheap but honestly felt worth it for a special occasion.

Jake Morrison VIPsAllowed - Great after-dinner sipper
7/10

Had this at a friend's place after dinner and immediately ordered a bottle. The orange peel note is really nice and stops it being just pure sugar. Goes amazingly with dark chocolate if you're into that. 14% ABV means you don't feel hammered after a couple of glasses either.

Henrik Larsen VIPsAllowed - Nice but very sweet
6/10

The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something dessert-y. It's good quality, you can taste the prune and coffee flavours, but I found it a bit much after one glass. My wife loved it though so not a waste. Probably wouldn't buy again at this price when you can get a decent port for less.

8/10

Got this as a birthday present for my dad who's really into sherry. He said the dried fig and date flavours were spot on and he liked that it had a bitter finish that kind of cleanses your palate. We ended up finishing the bottle between three of us with some vanilla ice cream. Proper indulgent.
