Simon Hughes VIPsAllowed - Great with pudding
8/10

We had this alongside a tarte tatin and it was perfect. Really rich honey and stone fruit flavours but there's an acidic kick at the end that cleans everything up. I'm not usually a dessert wine person but this one converted me a bit. Would definitely get it again for a dinner party.

I don't know loads about wine but I know what I like and this is INCREDIBLE. Tastes like the fanciest honey you've ever had mixed with dried apricots and something spicy I can't quite place. My friend who knows more about wine than me said something about saffron? Either way it's delicious.

Had a glass of this at a restaurant in Provence and immediately tracked down a bottle to bring home. The apricot and candied ginger thing going on is just lovely, and it doesn't sit heavy like some sweet wines do. Poured some for my parents and now my dad wants me to find him a case.

I've tried a few Muscat de Beaumes de Venise over the years and this is up there with the best. The nose is beautiful — all ripe apricot and raisins — and on the palate it's sweet but kept lively by a really clean acidity. Gorgeous with foie gras or just on its own after dinner. The ginger note on the finish is a nice surprise.

10/10

The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something sweet but not cloying. He was bang on. It's like liquid honey with this lovely gingery warmth and enough freshness to stop it being too much. Already ordered another bottle.

Had this with some blue cheese after Christmas dinner and it was a great match. Very honeyed and fruity — loads of apricot. I could only manage a small glass because it's quite intense at 15%, but that's kind of the point with these wines isn't it? Good stuff.

Penelope Hart VIPsAllowed - Absolute stunner of a dessert wine
9/10

Bought this for my wife's birthday dinner and we ended up finishing the whole bottle between the two of us. The apricot and honey flavours are gorgeous — sweet but not sickly, which is my usual problem with dessert wines. At £27 it's not cheap but honestly felt worth every penny for a special occasion.

Noah Williams VIPsAllowed - Bit pricey for what it is
7/10

It's a nice enough Muscat, sweet and honeyed with some orange peel notes. But nearly £28 for a dessert wine I'm only going to have a glass or two of feels steep. I've had similar from Rivesaltes for less. That said, the balance is genuinely impressive — not cloying at all.
