Luciano Bianchi VIPsAllowed - Nice dessert wine, does the job
7/10

Bought this for a dinner party to go with the cheese course. It's sweet but not overwhelmingly so, which I appreciated. Good balance to it. Wouldn't say it blew my mind but everyone seemed to enjoy it and the bottle was empty by the end of the night.

Oh my god this stuff is dangerous. Smells absolutely amazing straight out of the bottle — like concentrated Christmas cake. Tastes even better, all dried fruit and treacle but somehow still clean and fresh? I'm not usually one for dessert wines but I could drink this all evening. Already ordered another bottle.

Priscilla Nunes VIPsAllowed - Lovely after dinner sipper
8/10

The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something sweet but not cloying. He was spot on — there's a proper depth to it and the finish goes on forever without getting sickly. We've been having a small glass after dinner most evenings. At 14% it's not going to knock you sideways either.

Victor Osei VIPsAllowed - Bit too sweet for me personally
6/10

My partner loves PX sherry so I got this as a birthday present. She really liked it but I found it a touch too sweet for my taste, even though apparently it's more balanced than most. The dried fruit thing is nice and it does linger pleasantly, just not my style. At £19 I'd probably try something drier next time.

Connor McBride VIPsAllowed - Incredible for the price
8/10

Picked this up on a whim from Waitrose and honestly shocked at how good it is for under twenty quid. Really rich dried fruit flavours — raisins, figs, that sort of thing — but it doesn't just taste like liquid sugar which is my usual problem with sweet wines. Poured it over vanilla ice cream too and that was a game changer.

Aiko Tanaka VIPsAllowed - Solid PX, nothing to complain about
7/10

I've had a few Pedro Ximenez sherries over the years and this sits comfortably in the middle. Plenty of raisin and date flavours, decent acidity keeping it from being a sugar bomb. Not the most complex I've tried but genuinely enjoyable and fair value for what you're getting.
