View All (5)Bought a couple of bottles on holiday in Northumberland. It's got a nice tartness to it that stops it being too jammy, and the finish is surprisingly clean. Had it with a strong cheddar and it worked really well. Wouldn't pay much more than the £9.50 though.
17 March 2026I'm not usually a fruit wine person but a mate recommended this and I'm glad I tried it. You get proper damson flavour, almost like sloe berries, and it's got more body than I expected at 14%. Went down a treat after a roast dinner.
17 January 2026My aunt brought this round for Sunday lunch. It's fine but it's very fruity and sweet for my taste — I usually go for a dry red. I could taste the damson and plum which was nice enough, just not what I'd reach for. Might work better as a dessert wine.
