Diana Cruz VIPsAllowed — Christmas in a glass

Bought this for my dad's 60th and we ended up finishing the bottle between three of us. The dried fruit and toffee flavours are incredible — rich but not syrupy like some ports can be. At forty quid it's not cheap but honestly felt like a proper treat. Dad's already asked me to get another one.

A guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something special for Christmas. The spiced cake smell when you first pour it is unreal. It's rich and warming but there's this nice acidity that keeps it from being cloying. Already gone back and bought two more to stash away for next winter.

Had this after a big Sunday roast with some stilton and it was spot on. Really liked how it starts sweet with all that fig and caramel but then finishes kind of dry and tangy — stops it being too much. I'm not usually a port person but this one converted me a bit.
