Berthaut-Gerbet delivers a red of real quality here — Pinot Noir at its best, offering prestige at £199.00.

Amira Benali VIPsAllowed — The finish on this is unreal
8/10

Tried this at a wine bar after the guy behind the counter recommended it. You take a sip and it just keeps going — cherry and something almost smoky or tobacco-ish? Had to look it up afterwards because I couldn't stop thinking about it. Definitely one for sitting and savouring rather than knocking back with dinner.

Helena Kosta VIPsAllowed — Special occasion wine and it delivered
9/10

Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both blown away. The dark fruit flavours are incredible — like blackcurrant and cherry just rolling on and on. Tannins are smooth, not that drying thing you sometimes get with reds. At £199 it's not an everyday bottle but for a celebration it was perfect.

Devon Marsh VIPsAllowed — Really nice but hard to justify the price
7/10

A mate brought this to a dinner party and it was genuinely lovely — big on dark fruit with this peppery edge that I liked a lot. Pinot Noir doesn't always have that kind of weight to it so that was a pleasant surprise. But if I'm honest, £199 is steep and I've had bottles at half the price that got close.
