Isla McCallister VIPsAllowed — Solid port, nothing flashy

Decent tawny that does what it says on the tin. Nice enough dried fruit flavours and some coffee notes I wasn't expecting. I've had better ports for similar money though, and the sweetness was a touch much for me by the second glass.

I'm not usually a port drinker but picked this up because I wanted something different. The walnut and orange peel combo on the nose pulled me right in. Really smooth and warming — been having a small glass most evenings since. Dangerous stuff.

Bought this for a dinner party and it ended up being the star of the evening. The fig and caramel thing going on is gorgeous, and the finish just goes on and on. At under £25 this is a serious port — we went through two bottles between four of us.
