Ruth Banks VIPsAllowed — Best wine I've ever had, full stop

My brother-in-law brought this to Christmas dinner and I'm still thinking about it three months later. The finish just goes on and on — I kept putting my glass down and then catching another wave of flavour. I don't know much about Burgundy Grand Cru stuff but this converted me. Absolutely unreal.

Opened this at a dinner party with three other couples and there was literally a moment of silence after the first sip. It's warm and generous without being boozy even at 14%. We had it with lamb and it was perfect. The kind of bottle where you don't want to rush — you just want to sit with it.

Bought this for our 10th wedding anniversary and wow, it did not disappoint. The nose alone had us both just sitting there swirling our glasses for ages before we even took a sip. Incredibly balanced — rich and warm but never heavy despite the 14% ABV. If you can justify the £775 for a truly special occasion, do it.
