Ruth Banks VIPsAllowed - Best wine I've ever had, full stop
10/10

My brother-in-law brought this to Christmas dinner and I'm still thinking about it three months later. The finish just goes on and on — I kept putting my glass down and then catching another wave of flavour. I don't know much about Burgundy Grand Cru stuff but this converted me. Absolutely unreal.

Opened this at a dinner party with three other couples and there was literally a moment of silence after the first sip. It's warm and generous without being boozy even at 14%. We had it with lamb and it was perfect. The kind of bottle where you don't want to rush — you just want to sit with it.

Simon Hughes VIPsAllowed - Worth every penny for a special night
9/10

Bought this for our 10th wedding anniversary and wow, it did not disappoint. The nose alone had us both just sitting there swirling our glasses for ages before we even took a sip. Incredibly balanced — rich and warm but never heavy despite the 14% ABV. If you can justify the £775 for a truly special occasion, do it.

Penelope Hart VIPsAllowed - Really lovely but I expected more drama
8/10

Got this as a birthday present from my wife who clearly loves me very much. It's a beautiful wine — clean, elegant, and the finish lingers in this really satisfying way. I guess at this price point I was expecting it to change my life or something? It didn't quite do that, but it's still one of the best reds I've had.

Henrik Larsen VIPsAllowed - Nice wine, insane price tag
7/10

The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something special for a retirement dinner. And yeah it's delicious, really aromatic and complex. But honestly I've had Burgundies at a third of the price that gave me nearly as much enjoyment. Hard to rate the wine separately from the cost.

Astrid Nilsen VIPsAllowed - Give it time to breathe
9/10

Saw this on the list at a restaurant in London and thought sod it, treat yourself. First few sips I wasn't sure what the fuss was about, but after sitting with it for a while the depth just kept building. The balance between the fruit and acidity is spot on. Dujac clearly know what they're doing.

Andre Dubois VIPsAllowed - Stunning but hard to justify the price
8/10

Tried this at a tasting event and it's genuinely gorgeous wine. Let it breathe for half an hour and it really opens up into something special. But £775 is a LOT of money for a bottle of red, even one this good. I'd give the wine itself a 9 but the value brings it down a notch for me.
