Luna Chavez VIPsAllowed — Good but not blown away
6/10

Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was decent. Nice enough to drink and it's got some complexity to it, but for nearly £30 I think I expected more. The finish is clean and pleasant, nothing wrong with it at all, I just wouldn't rush out to buy a bottle myself.

Jake Morrison VIPsAllowed — Equipo Navazos doing reds now??
8/10

I know these guys from their sherry stuff so I was curious to try their red. Really expressive aromatics, like the wine is just shouting at you to drink it. There's genuine depth here, layers of fruit that keep unfolding as you sip. Not cheap but honestly feels like good value for the quality.

Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. The nose is amazing — really fruity and inviting, you can smell it before you even get the glass to your face. Loads of fruit on the palate but it's not jammy or heavy, there's a freshness that keeps you going back. At £27 it's not an everyday wine but it's worth it for a Friday treat.
