Ryan Mitchell VIPsAllowed — Nice but expected more for the price

Tried this at a restaurant after the sommelier recommended it. It's good — clean, well-made, nice depth to it. But at nearly £44 a bottle I was hoping to be blown away and it didn't quite get there for me. Would probably pick a decent Champagne at that price instead.

Picked this up from a wine shop in town after the guy behind the counter talked me into trying Franciacorta instead of my usual Prosecco. Completely different league. There's a real complexity to it that builds as you drink — not just bubbles and done. The finish hangs around just long enough to make you want more. Will definitely be going back for another bottle.

My wife got me this for my 40th and wow, what a bottle. Really expressive on the nose — you can tell straight away it's a step above your average fizz. The balance between the fruit and acidity is spot on, and it just keeps drawing you back for another sip. At £44 it's not an everyday buy but for a celebration it's absolutely worth it.
