Omar Diallo VIPsAllowed — Nice but pushing it on price
7/10

Had this at a friend's dinner party and thought it was a solid red. You get a lot of plum and berry fruit upfront and there's a chocolatey thing in the background that's quite nice. My issue is the price — £45 for a Pinot from Ronda feels steep when you can get decent Burgundy for similar money. Good wine though, just not sure it's £45 good.

Ravi Krishnan VIPsAllowed — Surprised by this one
8/10

I don't usually go for Pinot Noir outside of France or New Zealand so this was a bit of an experiment. The berry flavours are really rich and there's a mineral-y cleanness at the end that I wasn't expecting. It's got some weight to it without being heavy if that makes sense. Cortijo Los Aguilares is a name I'll be looking out for now.

Oscar Delgado VIPsAllowed — Spanish Pinot that actually delivers
9/10

Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop talked me into trying a Spanish Pinot Noir, which I was sceptical about. Really glad I did — the dark cherry and blackcurrant thing going on is lovely, and there's this earthy quality underneath that kept me coming back for another glass. Tannins are smooth enough that my wife liked it too and she usually hates anything with grip. At £45 it's not cheap but I'd buy it again for a special occasion.
