Daniel Torres VIPsAllowed — Converted a sherry sceptic

My wife always said she didn't like sherry until I poured her some of this. The aromatics are so generous and inviting — nothing harsh or rough about it at all. We ended up finishing the half bottle over cheese and crackers on a Friday night. She's now asking me to find more like this.

I'm not a sherry expert by any means but a friend brought this to a dinner party and wow. So much going on — layers of flavour that kept changing as it sat in the glass. At 14% it's not heavy at all which surprised me. We had it with some manchego and almonds and it was perfect.

Mei-Lin Wu VIPsAllowed — Good but not mindblowing
7/10

Decent oloroso with nice structure and a clean finish. I was expecting a bit more punch for the money if I'm honest. It's well balanced and the acidity keeps things interesting but at nearly eighty quid for 375ml I wanted to be more wowed than I was. Still a solid wine though.
