Telmont delivers a champagne of real quality here — Pinot Noir at its best, offering prestige at £134.00.

My wife got me this for my 40th and wow. The bubbles are super fine and it's got this amazing bread-y, pastry thing going on that I've never really noticed in champagne before. At £134 it's not an everyday bottle obviously but for a special occasion it's absolutely worth it. Kept going back to my glass all night.

The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something special for our anniversary dinner. It's 100% Pinot Noir which apparently gives it more weight and you can definitely tell — it's not one of those thin fizzy ones. Got a lovely lemon curd and chalky thing happening. We demolished the bottle with some roast chicken and it was perfect.

Tried this at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle. Lovely peachy nose and a crisp apple flavour that's really refreshing. My issue is the price — £134 is a lot and I've had champagnes at half that which I've enjoyed nearly as much. That said the finish goes on forever so maybe you are paying for quality.
