Herbert Muller VIPsAllowed - Birthday treat
7/10

My partner got me this for my birthday and I thought it was lovely. Really fresh and crisp with a sort of bready, brioche thing going on underneath. The bubbles are super fine and elegant. Would happily drink this again.

5/10

It's decent enough — crisp, lemony, pleasant bubbles. But for £26 I expected more wow factor honestly. I've had cavas at half the price that I enjoyed just as much. Would probably not buy again unless it was on offer.

Sophie Brennan VIPsAllowed - Nice dinner party option
6/10

Served this at a dinner party as the welcome drink. Everyone liked it, nobody raved about it. It's light, fresh, limey, does the job well. The white peach notes are nice. I'd say it sits comfortably in the 'good not special' category for me.

Never had a Cap Classique before and honestly didn't know what to expect. This is genuinely good — peachy, appley, with a toasty warmth to it. Feels way more sophisticated than most sparkling wines I usually drink. The finish just keeps going too.

Mei-Lin Wu VIPsAllowed - Really nice for a braai
7/10

Grabbed this for a weekend braai and it went down really well. Lovely apple and pear flavours, nice bubbles, not too heavy. At £26 it's not cheap but it's a proper celebration wine and beats most prosecco I've had.

5/10

Saw this on a restaurant wine list and ordered a glass. It's perfectly drinkable — clean, bubbly, appley — but at this price I kind of wanted something more memorable. The honeysuckle and brioche bits were subtle to the point where I barely noticed them. Not bad, just not worth seeking out.

Suki Patel VIPsAllowed - Good not great

Picked this up because the wine shop guy recommended it as a South African alternative to champagne. It's clean and refreshing with nice apple and lime flavours. The toasty bit is interesting. Solid but not blowing my mind at this price point.
