Priya Sharma VIPsAllowed - Not what I expected (in a good way)
7/10

I'm not really a sherry person but tried this at a tapas place and ordered a bottle online the next day. It's bone dry and kind of nutty and briny — nothing like the sweet sherry my nan drinks at Christmas. Takes a bit of getting used to but I'm into it now.

We had this with fried calamari and some prawns and honestly it was one of those perfect matches. So dry and salty and crisp. The almond flavour comes through really nicely. At this price point I'll definitely be keeping a bottle in the fridge permanently.

Got this as part of a mixed case. I can tell it's good quality but the super dry salty thing just isn't for me. Tried it with food, tried it on its own — still couldn't get on with it. My mate who's really into sherry thought it was great though so maybe it's just a taste thing.

I've been getting into sherry recently and this is a reliable go-to. Classic fino character — dry, nutty, briny. Not as complex as some of the en rama bottlings but for £15.95 it does exactly what you want. Serve it properly cold.

Bought this for a dinner party after reading good things. It's well made and I can see why people rate it, but honestly the yeasty dryness was a lot. My partner loved it though. Might work better with food than on its own.

8/10

Picked this up after the wine shop guy said it was one of the best finos for the money. He wasn't wrong — really dry and savoury with that salty almond thing going on. Brilliant with some olives and jamón on a Friday night. Under sixteen quid as well, can't argue with that.

Tried Lustau finos when we were in Jerez last summer and brought a couple of bottles home. The almond and bread dough notes are spot on. Has to be ice cold though or it loses something. Really nice aperitif before dinner.

My brother-in-law always said he hated sherry so I made him try this blind with some salted almonds. He went through three glasses before asking what it was. That clean dry finish is so moreish. At under sixteen quid it's embarrassingly good value for something this interesting.
