Suki Patel VIPsAllowed — English fizz convert

I'll be honest, I used to think English sparkling was a bit of a gimmick but this Gusbourne has completely changed my mind. There's a real depth to it that builds as you drink — ripe fruit, crisp acidity, and a clean finish that makes you keep going back for more. At 12.5% it's dangerously easy to drink too. Worth the money if you ask me.

Had this at a friend's dinner party and really enjoyed it — nice and fresh with a sort of biscuity richness to it. The bubbles are super fine and elegant. But at nearly 64 quid I'd probably only grab it for something special. There are decent cavas and proseccos for a third of the price that I'd reach for on a normal weekend.

Jake Morrison VIPsAllowed — The wine shop guy was right
8/10

Went in looking for champagne and the guy behind the counter talked me into trying this instead. So glad he did. It's got that lovely creamy texture with enough sharpness to keep it interesting, and the fruit flavours really come through after you let it sit for a bit. Held its own against the Moët we also opened that night.
