Sibel Nur VIPsAllowed - Unreal value for an oloroso
8/10

I've been getting into sherry lately and this is a steal at £15.75. Really complex — there's toffee, figs, a slightly salty thing going on. Doesn't taste like it's 20% either which is dangerous. Had it with some manchego and marcona almonds, absolutely spot on.

Served this at a dinner party as an aperitif and everyone was surprised it was sherry. The dried fig and toasted nut flavours went down really well. Clean finish too, not heavy or cloying like some fortified wines can be.

Tried this because I wanted to branch out from red wine. It's well made I think — you can taste the walnut and toffee — but oloroso sherry just isn't for me. Too dry and savoury. Might try a cream sherry next instead.

Noah Williams VIPsAllowed - Proper good sherry

Picked this up after the guy at Majestic said it was one of the best olorosos under twenty quid. He wasn't wrong — loads of walnut and toffee flavour, and it's properly dry which I prefer. Brilliant with a cheese board on a Friday night.

Had this at a tapas restaurant and ordered a bottle online when I got home. It's got a nice warmth to it without being boozy even at 20%. The nutty dry flavour is really moreish. Good with salty snacks.

6/10

My partner loves sherry so I got this for his birthday. It's very dry and nutty which he was into but honestly I found it a bit intense. The walnut flavour is strong. Probably one for people who already know they like this style.

Decent sherry for the price. You get the dried fruit and nutty stuff on the nose and it drinks really smoothly for 20%. I wouldn't say it blew my mind but I'd happily buy it again.

Finn OBrien VIPsAllowed - Why did I sleep on sherry for so long
8/10

Saw someone recommend Williams & Humbert on a wine forum and gave this a go. The nose is amazing — like toasted walnuts and cheese in the best possible way. Really balanced and the finish just keeps going. At under sixteen quid this is going on the regular rotation.
