Luciano Bianchi VIPsAllowed - Not really my thing

My partner loves sherry so I grabbed this for a Friday night in. It's very dry and saline which I wasn't expecting — I think I was hoping for something sweeter. Fair enough at the price but I'd rather have a glass of red honestly. She liked it though so what do I know.

Picked this up for £12.95 after seeing it on a restaurant menu and wanting to try it at home. Really salty and yeasty in a good way — almost like sourdough bread? Goes down way too easily for 20% ABV, which is dangerous. Solid everyday sherry if you're into that sort of thing.

Had this chilled with some tapas and it was genuinely lovely. There's a lot going on — salty, dry, a bit nutty — and it doesn't taste boozy at all despite being 20%. I've been getting more into sherry lately and Tio Pepe is a solid go-to. The finish keeps you coming back for another sip.

The wine shop guy recommended this as a good intro to fino sherry and he wasn't wrong. You can really smell the yeast straight away, quite punchy. Nice with some olives and cheese. Not mind-blowing but at under £13 it does the job and I'd buy it again.
