Zara Al-Hassan - Good not great

Decent white port, well made and nicely balanced. The acidity keeps it fresh which I liked, and the nutty finish is pleasant. I just feel like at this price point I'd rather grab two bottles of something else. That said the gift box makes it a solid birthday present option.

Got this as a gift for my dad who's into port and he absolutely loved it. We cracked it open after dinner and the dried apricot and almond flavours are really lovely. Smooth for 20% too, doesn't burn like some fortified wines. Would definitely buy again.

Never really thought about white port before but picked this up on a whim and wow. Way more complex than I expected, kind of honeyed and nutty with a clean finish. Had it with some salted almonds and blue cheese and it was a brilliant combo.

The guy at my local wine shop talked me into this and I'm glad he did. It's got this lovely dried fruit and toasted almond thing going on that just works really well chilled on a summer evening. Ten years aged and you can tell — there's proper depth here.

Tried this at a friend's house and it's genuinely good — nutty, honeyed, interesting stuff. But nearly fifty quid is a lot for a white port when you can get decent tawny for less. The gift box is smart though so I guess it works as a present.
