Tyler Bennet VIPsAllowed - White port convert
9/10

I'd only ever had ruby and tawny port before so this was totally new to me. It's got 20% ABV so it packs a punch but you really don't notice because it's so smooth and balanced. The dried fruit and spice on the finish just keeps going. Genuinely one of the most interesting things I've drunk this year.

Decent white port — nice candied citrus peel and butterscotch notes, clean finish. For a 10 year old aged port though I was hoping for a bit more depth. It's pleasant and easy drinking but didn't blow me away the way some reviews suggested it would. Fair enough for the price, just managed my expectations a bit high I think.

The guy at the wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something different for a dinner party. Served it slightly chilled with a cheese board and it was a massive hit. Really honeyed and smooth with a sort of nutty, caramelly thing going on. Everyone kept asking what it was. Will definitely be getting another bottle.

Picked this up after trying white port for the first time at a restaurant in Lisbon. The butterscotch and almond thing is real — it's like dessert in a glass but not sickly sweet. At £35 it's not cheap but honestly I've spent more on worse bottles of whisky. Serving it chilled with some salted almonds is just perfect.

Got this as a birthday present and it's genuinely lovely — really smooth with dried apricot and citrus flavours that linger nicely. My issue is the price tag. Thirty-five quid is a lot for a port you're going to drink casually on the sofa, even if it is 10 years old. Would happily drink it again if someone else is buying though.
