Sara Lindstrom VIPsAllowed - Dangerously smooth for 20%
9/10

My wife and I split a bottle over two evenings and I still can't believe this is 20% ABV. You genuinely cannot taste the alcohol at all. The nutty, caramelly thing it does is amazing and the finish lasts forever. Treat yourself if you can afford it.

Bought this for my dad's 70th birthday and we opened it after dinner. Honestly none of us wanted to stop sipping it — the caramel and dried fruit flavours just kept going and going. At £187 it's not cheap but for a once-in-a-lifetime bottle I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Haruki Sato VIPsAllowed - Incredible but hard to justify the price

Got a glass of this at a port tasting event and it blew me away — really complex, loads of dried fruit and a lovely clean finish. But £187 for a bottle? I'd need a seriously special occasion to pull the trigger on that. If someone else is buying though, say yes immediately.

Marcus Blackwell VIPsAllowed - Christmas present to myself

Picked this up from a wine shop after the guy behind the counter talked me into it. Glad he did. It's so smooth and layered, every sip tastes slightly different. The caramel notes with that bright acidity underneath are gorgeous. Been rationing it in small glasses to make it last.

Erik Strom VIPsAllowed - Lovely but I expected more for the money
7/10

Don't get me wrong this is a really good port — warm, rich, beautiful dried fruit flavours and a long finish. But at nearly £200 I was expecting to have my mind completely blown and it didn't quite get there for me. I've had 20 year tawnies at half the price that came surprisingly close. Still a solid 7 though.
