Kwame Mensah VIPsAllowed - Really surprised by this one
8/10

Picked this up because the wine shop guy said it was something different. He wasn't wrong — it's got this amazing grapefruit and mineral thing going on that just keeps going. Under £17 as well which is a bonus. Would definitely buy again.

Bought this for a fish supper at home and it was a great match. Very crisp and clean with a slightly salty edge that worked really well. Not the most exciting wine I've ever had but solid for the price.

I can see why people rate this but personally found the acidity a bit much. The passionfruit nose was lovely though and the finish does go on forever. Might try it again with food rather than on its own.

Suki Patel VIPsAllowed - Txacoli fans need to try this
8/10

So this is a Txacoli made with Riesling blended in which is pretty unusual. The elderflower and citrus peel notes are gorgeous and it's got way more complexity than you'd expect at this price point. Brought it to a dinner party and everyone wanted to know what it was.

Had this at a friend's barbecue last weekend. Really refreshing, almost like biting into a grapefruit but in a good way. The minerally finish is nice too. At £17 it's not an everyday buy for me but I'd grab it for a special occasion.
