Sophia Laurent VIPsAllowed - Perfect for celebrations

Bought this for my wife's birthday and it went down an absolute treat. Really lovely pink colour and the bubbles are fine and elegant — not aggressive like some sparkling wines. The finish keeps you coming back for more. At £43.75 it's not cheap but for a special occasion English fizz, I'd happily buy it again.

Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was genuinely enjoyable — proper depth to it, not just a one-note rosé. But when I looked up the price afterwards, £43.75 feels a bit much when you can get decent Crémant for half that. Would I buy it myself? Maybe for a treat, probably not as a regular thing.

I'm normally a Prosecco person so wasn't sure about spending this much on a rosé fizz, but this is a different league honestly. Really well balanced between the fruit and the acidity, and the finish is clean and long. Sat outside with a glass of this last weekend and it was genuinely lovely. Will be keeping an eye out for Balfour from now on.

The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and he was spot on. You get a really confident hit of fruit on the nose straight away, no swirling needed. There's proper structure to it too — feels like a serious wine rather than something just for toasting. Goes brilliantly with smoked salmon if you're wondering.
