Jorge Castillo VIPsAllowed — Birthday treat that delivered

Bought this for my 50th and wow, glad I splashed out. The complexity is unreal — every sip gives you something different and the finish just goes on and on. At £75 it's not an everyday bottle but for a special occasion it's absolutely worth it.

Asked for something different at my local and he pulled this off the shelf. Really confident flavours from the oxidative ageing, proper rich but not heavy if that makes sense. Opened it with dinner and we were still talking about it the next day. The finish alone is worth the price.

Had this at a friend's dinner party and immediately had to know what it was. It's one of those wines where you need to take your time — rush it and you'll miss half of what's going on. The balance between the richness and the acidity keeps it really drinkable despite how complex it is. Already ordered a bottle for myself.
