Andre Dubois VIPsAllowed - Bit pricey but I get it
8/10

Look, £85 is a lot of money for a bottle of wine. But I split it with my partner over a slow Sunday roast and it was genuinely lovely. The liquorice and dark fruit flavours were really interesting. Would I buy it every week? No. Would I buy it again for Christmas? Definitely.

Bought this for my 40th and honestly so glad I did. The dark berry flavours are incredible, like proper concentrated fruit, and that finish just keeps going. At £85 it's not an everyday wine but for a special occasion it's absolutely worth it.

Petra Novak VIPsAllowed - Nice but maybe not £85 nice
7/10

Got this as a gift and it's a very good wine, don't get me wrong. The oak and fruit are nicely balanced and there's a warm spicy thing going on that I liked. But having looked up the price I think you can get similar quality Pinot Noir for less. Still enjoyed it though.

Priya Sharma VIPsAllowed - Best Pommard I've had in ages
10/10

I've been slowly working my way through Burgundy Premier Crus and this Violot-Guillemard is a standout. The damson and mulberry on the nose are so rich, and the palate has this gorgeous velvety texture with dark berry compote that just coats your tongue. Clove and spice adding warmth underneath. Outstanding.

Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered it on a whim. So smooth and rich, loads of dark berry and plum, with a bit of spice that keeps things interesting. The finish lasted forever. Tracked down a bottle for home the next week.

8/10

The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted a nice Pinot Noir for a dinner party. Lovely smoky quality to it and the plum and leather on the finish are great. Went down really well with the lamb we had.

Valentina Ricci VIPsAllowed - This is what good Burgundy tastes like
9/10

I'm fairly new to French wines but a friend who knows her stuff brought this to dinner. The bramble fruit smell when you pour it is amazing and it tastes like dark berry jam with a smoky edge. At 13% it didn't knock us sideways either. I finally understand why people go on about Burgundy.

Ryan Mitchell VIPsAllowed - Great wine for a slow evening

Picked this up for our anniversary. Really rich and warming, lots of plum and mulberry with that clove spice coming through. Paired it with steak and it was perfect. Finish lingered nicely. Would happily get it again for a special night in.
