Kenji Watanabe VIPsAllowed - Converted me from prosecco
9/10

The guy in Majestic talked me into trying this instead of my usual prosecco and wow, there's a massive difference. It's so much more complex — like baked apple and toast and then this citrusy freshness underneath. I get why people spend proper money on champagne now. Dangerous knowledge to have honestly.

Sophie Brennan VIPsAllowed - Good not great
7/10

Saw this on a restaurant menu and treated myself. It's perfectly nice champagne — bubbly, biscuity, clean finish with a bit of almond. But at 12.5% and this price point I wanted something that really knocked my socks off and it was more just... solid? Nothing wrong with it at all, just didn't set my world on fire.

I keep coming back to Yellow Label because it never lets you down. There's a lovely toasted almond thing going on in the finish that I really enjoy, and it's got enough body that you can actually sip it slowly rather than just knocking it back. Good with nibbles before dinner too.

Sophia Laurent VIPsAllowed - Solid pick for a gift
8/10

Grabbed a bottle for my dad's retirement do. Everyone recognised the yellow label which is half the battle with gifts isn't it. Tasted great too — stone fruit flavours, not too dry, not too sweet. The finish hangs around in a really pleasant way. Would buy again for sure.

Oscar Delgado VIPsAllowed - Nice but is it £55 nice?
7/10

Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was definitely tasty — brioche-y nose, crisp and fruity. But honestly for fifty-five quid I expected to be a bit more blown away. I've had Crémants at half the price that come pretty close. You're paying for the name a bit here.

Jackson Wu VIPsAllowed - The celebration staple
9/10

Bought this for my wife's 40th and it went down an absolute treat. Really bready, toasty smell when you pop it open and the taste is proper grown-up — apple and something biscuity that I couldn't stop going back to. At £55 it's not cheap but for a big occasion it's worth every penny.
