Tenuta Mara Guiry 2021
Red 14% ABV ABV Tenuta MaraSolid Italian red
Got this for a dinner party and it went down well. Nice structure to it, not too heavy despite being 14%. A couple of guests commented on it which doesn't happen often. Would buy again but wouldn't say it blew my mind.
Nice find from Tenuta Mara
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered a bottle to try. For 14% ABV it's surprisingly elegant — I was expecting something heavy and jammy but it's actually quite focused and bright. Tracked down a bottle to have at home and it held up just as well. Fair price too.
One of my favourite reds this year
I keep coming back to this wine. There's a real depth and complexity to it that you don't usually get at this price point. Every sip gives you something a bit different. Had it with pizza, with pasta, with cheese — works with everything. Absolutely loved it.
Really impressed for under twenty quid
Picked this up from a local wine shop on a whim and genuinely surprised by how good it is. Really well balanced — the fruit is ripe but it doesn't taste like jam, if that makes sense. Had it with a slow-cooked beef ragu and it was spot on. At £19.50 this is going on the regular rotation.
Good but not amazing
It's fine. Decent enough red with some interesting flavours going on but I've had better for the price honestly. The finish is clean and pleasant but it didn't really wow me. Bit pricey for what it is — I'd want a bit more at the £20 mark.
Birthday treat that delivered
My partner got me this for my birthday after the guy in the wine shop recommended it. Really aromatic when you pour it, loads of character in the nose. The tannins give it a proper backbone and the acidity keeps it fresh. Loved it with a steak, would absolutely buy this again.
