First Impressions

Pol Roger 2019 Rosé Vintage Champagne arrives at £105.00 for 75cl, and at this price point, expectations are rightly elevated. A vintage rosé Champagne from the historic house of Pol Roger in Épernay.

France's winemaking heritage needs no introduction, but the best producers continue to find new ways to express their terroir while honouring centuries of tradition. Pol Roger is a name worth knowing in this context.

On the Nose and Palate

The nose offers complex bouquet of toasted brioche, pear, white peach, and a subtle honeyed richness. Moving to the palate, the wine is rich and full on the palate with baked apple, honey, and hazelnut, supported by a persistent fine bead. The finish is exceptionally long with a trail of citrus, toasted bread, and chalky minerality.

Food Pairing and Serving

Equally at home as an aperitif or alongside seafood, sushi, or delicate canapes. Serve at 8–10°C in proper flutes or, better yet, white wine glasses to appreciate the full bouquet.

The Verdict

Pol Roger 2019 Rosé Vintage Champagne earns a well-deserved 8 out of 10. This is an outstanding champagne that delivers its blend with genuine conviction and craft. At £105.00, this sits in premium territory, and it delivers the quality to match. Whether you're building a cellar or simply looking for something excellent to drink tonight, this bottle earns its place.

Olivia Wong VIPsAllowed - Solid rosé champagne
8/10

Had this at a friend's wedding and tracked a bottle down afterwards. Really elegant stuff — there's a honeyed richness to it and a baked apple flavour that I wasn't expecting from a champagne. The finish goes on forever too. Would buy again for special occasions.

Zoe Chen VIPsAllowed - Good but is it £105 good?
7/10

The wine shop recommended this over a couple of cheaper options and I can see why — it's complex, got that toasty bread and hazelnut thing with a chalky dry finish. But honestly for £105 I'd probably look at some of the non-vintage Pol Rogers instead and save myself £50. Still a very nice bottle though.

Picked this up for a nice steak dinner at home and it was gorgeous. I'm not great at describing wine but there's definitely pear and peach on the nose, and it tastes rich and smooth with really tiny bubbles. My partner said it was the best champagne she's had. We'll be getting another one at Christmas.

Bought this for my 40th and wow, it really was something special. The bubbles are incredibly fine and it's got this lovely toasty, brioche-y thing going on with some fruity sweetness underneath. At £105 it's not cheap but for a milestone birthday? Absolutely worth it.
