Samir Patel VIPsAllowed - Nice change from prosecco
7/10

Saw this on a restaurant menu and thought I'd try something different. It's definitely more serious than prosecco — fuller body and more going on flavour-wise. The alcohol is quite high at 14% which caught me off guard a bit, but it carries it well. Would order again.

My partner got me this for my birthday and wow, really enjoyed it. The nose is gorgeous — you can smell it as soon as you pour. Clean finish that kept me going back for more. We killed the bottle embarrassingly fast.

Sophie Brennan VIPsAllowed - Good value Cap Classique
7/10

Been getting into MCC recently and this is a reliable one. Not trying to be champagne which I respect — it leans into the Western Cape fruit character and it works. The finish is clean and lingers nicely. At this price point it's competitive.

Nia Okafor VIPsAllowed - Great South African fizz
8/10

Picked this up after the wine shop guy recommended it as a champagne alternative. Really impressed — proper bubbles, nice fruit, and it felt a bit more full-bodied than your usual sparkling which I actually liked. At £18.50 it's a no-brainer for celebrations.

Natalie Ford VIPsAllowed - Solid bubbly for the price

Bought a couple of bottles for a dinner party and everyone enjoyed it. It's got more weight to it than I expected, almost rich? Not complaining though, went down very easily. Would buy again but probably wouldn't pay much more than this.

Tyler Bennet VIPsAllowed - Decent but not quite champagne
6/10

It's nice enough and I can taste the quality is there, but for £18.50 I'd probably just save up a bit more for actual champagne. The fruit is quite forward and it's a bigger style than I usually go for with fizz. Fine for a casual weekend drink though.

I don't know much about South African wine but this has converted me. Beautiful balance of fruit and acidity, proper depth to it. Had it with roast chicken and it was perfect. Already ordered another three bottles.
