Had this with a slow-cooked lamb shoulder and it was perfect. Big and structured but not heavy if that makes sense. Love the peppery kick and the finish just goes on and on. Definitely one to open an hour before you drink it.

The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something from the Rhône. It's good — lots of blackcurrant and a smoky thing going on — but I'm not sure it's £47 good. I've had St Josephs at half the price that came close. Would probably buy again on offer though.

Saw this on a list at a restaurant and ordered a bottle to try at home afterwards. Really expressive dark fruit, almost like damson jam, with something herby and stony on the end. 14% but doesn't drink hot at all which surprised me. Would happily bring this to a dinner party.

Ingrid Holm VIPsAllowed - Proper grown-up wine
9/10

Bought this for my wife's birthday dinner and it was a real hit. Dark fruity, peppery, and it just kept getting better as the evening went on. At £47 it's not an everyday bottle but for a special occasion it's worth every penny.
