Kwame Mensah VIPsAllowed - Worth every ridiculous penny

Okay yes it's £334 and yes my wife nearly killed me. But honestly? This is the best champagne I've ever had. The red fruit thing going on is incredible and it just keeps giving you more the longer you sit with it. Bought it for our anniversary and we both agreed it was a moment.

Got this as a birthday present which is the only reason I've tried it. It's really nice don't get me wrong — lovely red fruit character and a clean finish that makes you want another glass. But I've had champagnes at half this price that got me just as excited. Wouldn't buy it myself.

Elena Morozova VIPsAllowed - The one that ruined all other champagne for me
10/10

Had this at a friend's wedding and I've been chasing that feeling ever since. So much depth compared to regular fizz — there's this savoury quality underneath all the fruit that makes it really interesting. Finally splashed out on a bottle myself. No regrets.

The wine shop guy recommended this for a big birthday dinner and it was genuinely lovely. Bright and fresh with loads of red berry flavours, and it got even better as it sat in the glass for a bit. That said, at over £300 I'm not sure I'd buy it again when there are solid rosé champagnes for a third of the price.

Nia Okafor VIPsAllowed - Finally understand the Krug hype
9/10

I always thought Krug was just a name people threw around to sound fancy. Tried this at a tasting event and yeah, I get it now. There's a real seriousness to it — proper structure and acidity, not just fruity bubbles. Every sip kept revealing something new. Dangerous for the wallet though.

Henrik Larsen VIPsAllowed - Opened it too early at our dinner party

We cracked this open with the starters and honestly should have waited. It needs a few minutes to breathe and warm up slightly — once it did, it completely transformed. Rich and complex with this amazing savoury edge underneath the fruit. Everyone at the table went quiet for a second after tasting it which tells you everything really.
