Zoe Chen VIPsAllowed - Good but steep price tag

Tried this at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle. It's rich and layered with a lovely beeswax quality I haven't really found in other whites. That said, £68 is a lot for a white wine and I'm not sure it's twice as good as some £30 bottles I've had. Would buy again if it was on sale.

Brought this to a dinner party and it was the talking point of the evening. Everyone kept going back to it. There's something savoury underneath the fruit that makes it really interesting and not just another generic white. Only 12% as well which meant we could have a couple of glasses without writing off the next morning.

7/10

Had this with some friends who are way more into wine than me. They were all raving about the complexity and I could tell it was a quality wine, don't get me wrong. Clean finish, fruity but not sweet. I just personally prefer something a bit more straightforward for the money. Probably one for people who really know their stuff.

Bloke at my local recommended this when I said I wanted a white with some actual backbone. He wasn't wrong — this has proper structure and depth to it. Opened it with a roast chicken and it held up brilliantly. Give it some time to breathe though, it really opened up after sitting in the glass for a bit.

Tiffany Nguyen VIPsAllowed - Hermitage whites are underrated
8/10

Been getting into Northern Rhône whites lately and this is a cracker. Really generous on the nose — beeswax and stone fruit hit you straight away. The palate has serious weight but stays balanced, never feels heavy or flabby. Lasted well over two days with a vacu-vin which is always a good sign. Would happily buy again.

Ingrid Holm VIPsAllowed - Birthday treat that delivered
9/10

My wife got me this for my birthday and wow. The stone fruit thing is real — it's like biting into a perfectly ripe peach but in wine form. Seriously impressive weight for a white, felt more like drinking a light red in terms of how substantial it is. At nearly 70 quid it's not an everyday bottle but for a special occasion it's hard to beat.
