First Impressions

Henners Pinot Noir Rose 2024 arrives at £22.25 for 75cl, and at this price, it needs to offer genuine quality to stand out in a crowded market. The vineyards of Henners are less than a mile from the sea in East Sussex which they farm with minimal intervention. This rose has notes of cranberry, rosehip and red apple with a hint

English wine has emerged as one of the most exciting stories in the wine world, with chalky soils and cool climates producing wines that rival established continental regions. Henners is a name worth knowing in this context.

On the Nose and Palate

The nose offers pale pink with aromas of redcurrant, blood orange, and crushed flowers. Moving to the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with refined berry fruit, white peach, and a mineral-driven freshness. The finish is delicate and dry, with a gentle citrus and mineral close.

Food Pairing and Serving

Ideal for al fresco dining — grilled Mediterranean vegetables, light salads, and seafood all work beautifully. Serve well-chilled at 8–10°C.

The Verdict

Henners Pinot Noir Rose 2024 earns a well-deserved 7 out of 10. This is an very good rose that delivers Pinot Noir with genuine conviction and craft. At £22.25, the quality-to-price ratio here is genuinely impressive. Whether you're building a cellar or simply looking for something excellent to drink tonight, this bottle earns its place.

Rosa Paredes VIPsAllowed - Nice but a bit steep
6/10

The wine shop guy recommended this as a good English rosé and it's perfectly pleasant — dry, light berry flavours, goes down easy. But honestly for over £22 I expected to be a bit more blown away. I've had French rosés at half the price that I enjoyed just as much.

Had this with grilled salmon and it was a great match. There's a citrusy thing going on at the end that really works with food. Bone dry which is exactly what I want from a rosé. Nice to support an English producer too.

Felix Moreau VIPsAllowed - Birthday treat!
8/10

My partner got me this for my birthday and I absolutely loved it. It's got this really clean taste — kind of like wild berries and blood orange? Not your typical fruity rosé at all, much more grown up. Would make a brilliant gift for anyone who thinks they don't like rosé.

Rafael Santos VIPsAllowed - Perfect garden wine
8/10

Picked this up for a barbecue last weekend and it was a massive hit. Really refreshing with a nice dry finish — none of that sickly sweet stuff you sometimes get with rosé. You can taste the redcurrant and there's a bit of peach in there too. At £22 it's not cheap but I'd definitely buy it again for a special occasion.
