Elena Vasquez VIPsAllowed - Solid pick from the wine shop
8/10

The guy at my local recommended this when I said I wanted something a bit different from the usual Moët. It's got loads of flavour — stone fruit, brioche, bit of citrus on the end. Really enjoyed it and would buy again, though I'd probably save it for when we have people over rather than a Tuesday night.

Had this at a friend's dinner party and thought it was good, not amazing. Bit pricey for what it is at £42-odd when you can get decent prosecco for a tenner. That said the toasty almond flavour was genuinely lovely and it went down very easily with the starter.

I've been trying to branch out from the big champagne houses and this Gallimard is exactly the kind of thing I was after. Proper depth to it — fruity but not sweet, with a nice chalky dryness at the end that keeps you going back for more. Had it with some roast chicken and it was perfect.

Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both blown away. Really rich and bready with this lovely almond thing going on, but still fresh and easy to drink. At £42 it's not cheap but honestly for a special occasion champagne it's a bargain compared to the big names.

Opened this on a Friday night and before we knew it the bottle was gone. So easy to drink. You get all this warm brioche and ripe fruit upfront but it finishes really clean and crisp so you just keep pouring. Already ordered two more for Christmas.
