Egon Muller Scharzhof QBA Riesling 2021
White 12% ABV ABV Egon MullerPerfect summer evening wine
Cracked this open on the patio last weekend and it was just right. Floral and peachy on the nose, and it's got this zippy acidity that makes it super refreshing. At 12% it doesn't knock you sideways either. Bit of a treat at that price but sometimes you've earned it.
Worth every penny
Bought this for my wife's birthday and we were both blown away. The peach flavour is so clear and fresh, and it's got this amazing balance where it's a tiny bit sweet but never cloying. We killed the bottle in about an hour and I'm already looking for another one.
Really nice but ouch the price
The wine shop guy recommended this and yeah it's lovely — crisp, limey, really clean tasting. But £60 for a QBA Riesling is steep. I've had German Rieslings at half the price that got me almost as excited. Would I buy it again? Probably not unless it was a special occasion.
This one surprised me
Not usually a Riesling person but had this at a friend's dinner party and couldn't stop going back to it. There's something almost minerally at the end that keeps you sipping. Light enough that we drank it through the whole meal from fish starter to cheese. Really elegant stuff.
