Drappier Carte d’Or Brut NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV DrappierReally impressed with this one
I'm still pretty new to Champagne beyond the big names so tried this on a whim. The nose is gorgeous — you can smell it properly even before you take a sip. Lovely long finish too, not one of those that just disappears the second you swallow. At 12.5% it's easy drinking as well, had a couple of glasses before dinner without feeling it.
My new go-to celebration bottle
Bought this for my wife's birthday dinner and we both loved it. Really lively bubbles, crisp and fresh without being harsh. At £47 it's not cheap but honestly it drinks like something more expensive. We've already ordered another bottle for Easter.
Stole the show at our dinner party
Picked up two bottles for a dinner party and honestly everyone was asking about it. It's got this confident, clean taste that just works — not trying too hard, not boring either. We had it with some smoked salmon starters and it was perfect. Drappier are definitely on my radar now.
Solid Champagne, no complaints
The guy at our local wine shop recommended this and he was right. Nice balance to it — fruity but not sweet, with a clean finish that keeps you sipping. Good all-rounder if you want proper Champagne without spending silly money.
Good but a bit pricey for what it is
Had this at a friend's house and it was pleasant enough. Decent acidity, nice bubbles, does the job. But pushing nearly £50 for a non-vintage? I've had Champagnes at £35 that I enjoyed just as much. Would drink again but probably wouldn't buy it myself.
