Isla McCallister VIPsAllowed - Perfect summer wine
8/10

Saw this on a wine list at a restaurant and ordered a bottle to take home after trying a glass. It's got this gorgeous clarity to it, almost like you can taste how clean it is if that makes sense. Really balanced — not too fruity, not too dry. One of the better whites I've had this year.

Picked this up from my local wine shop on his recommendation and glad I did. There's a freshness to it that I wasn't expecting from a Southern Rhône white — really crisp and clean. Had it with roast chicken and it was perfect. Would definitely buy again.

Got this as a birthday present from a friend who knows I'm getting into wine and WOW. There's something almost mineral and fresh on the nose that just pulls you in. The finish goes on forever in the best way. This is the kind of wine that makes me want to learn more about the Rhône.

Only 12% ABV but honestly you'd think there was more depth to it than that. Had a glass on its own before dinner and it held up well without food. Good acidity, nice long finish. Decent bottle.

Bought this for a dinner party thinking the Charvin name would impress. It's fine — refreshing, light at 12%, easy to drink. But for thirty quid I expected a bit more wow factor. My guests enjoyed it though so maybe I'm being harsh.

Nice wine but £29.50 for a Côtes-du-Rhône feels like a stretch. That said, it's got more going on than most whites at this price — there's a minerally thing happening that I liked. Finish is lovely and clean. Just wish it was closer to £20.

Helena Kosta VIPsAllowed - Good everyday white if you can afford it
7/10

Been trying more French whites lately and this Charvin is a nice one. Not heavy at all, really crisp with decent complexity once it opens up a bit. Goes great with fish and chips weirdly enough. Would be an easy 8 if it was under £25.
