Dom Perignon 2017 Vintage Champagne: Bubbles with Real Depth
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Dom PerignonFinally tried the real deal
Always wondered if Dom Perignon was actually worth it or just marketing. Had it at a friend's birthday dinner and honestly, it's the real deal. Really rich and bready with stone fruit flavours, but still fresh and zippy at the same time. The finish goes on forever. I get why people spend the money now.
Dangerous how easy this goes down
Picked this up from a wine shop for New Year's and the guy behind the counter said the 2017 vintage is a good one. He wasn't wrong. It's so smooth and creamy with lovely toasty notes, and the lemon on the finish keeps it really fresh. Shared it between four of us and honestly we could have done with a second bottle. Dangerously drinkable for 12.5%.
Worth every single penny
Bought this for our 10th wedding anniversary and wow. The bubbles are so fine and creamy, and there's this amazing toasty almond thing going on that just keeps evolving in the glass. My wife and I kept passing it back and forth going 'taste it NOW' because it changed every few minutes. At £204 it's not an everyday buy obviously, but for a big occasion? Absolutely perfect.
Great champagne, hard to justify the price
Got a bottle as a gift and it's genuinely lovely — brioche, lemon, bit of almond, really elegant stuff. But I've had champagnes at half the price that get pretty close. If someone else is buying or it's a truly special occasion then go for it, but I probably wouldn't buy it for myself again at £204.
