Goes brilliantly with a curry or a pizza on a Friday night. I know wine people will roll their eyes but there's genuine flavour here — proper fruit notes and a nice long finish. At £10.75 a bottle I'm not complaining one bit. Picked up three bottles last weekend.

Look, it's Buckfast. It's fine for what it is. There's a decent bit of acidity that stops it being totally flat and sweet, but it's not something I'd pour for guests. For a tenner you can do better if you're after an actual red wine.

Saw all the memes about Buckfast and figured I'd actually try it properly out of a wine glass instead of the bottle. The acidity gives it a decent backbone and there's more complexity than it has any right to have at this price. Not the best red I've ever had but genuinely not bad either.

Bought a bottle for a laugh at a mate's birthday and we were all genuinely surprised. There's actual fruit flavour in there and it doesn't just taste like cough syrup like everyone says. At £10.75 it's not bad at all — the finish is clean and it's got more going on than most cheap reds I've had.

Someone brought this to a dinner party and I gave it a fair go. It's aromatic for sure and the structure is better than I expected, but it's just too sweet for my taste. If you like drier reds this probably isn't for you. The price is fair though.

My Scottish flatmate convinced me to try this with an open mind and honestly? The mid-palate has way more depth than I expected. It's sweet but not cloyingly so, and at 14% it does the job. Would I buy it again? Maybe on a cold night in.
